Mines minister Paul Kabuswe has accused Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) president Kasonde Mwenda of being mentally disturbed for insinuating that the government is not telling the truth on the number of people who are trapped at Seseli Mine in Chingola.
Featuring on a CAMNET TV program, Mwenda said the government was not being truthful on the number of miners who are trapped because when he went there, he was told by the miners that there were more, around 250 people who were trapped in the tunnels.
But when contacted for a comment, Kabuswe said Mwenda was mentally disturbed and would not respond to him.
“Just tell them that the government has said Kasonde … is coming from the person who is mentally disturbed that is all. And that Kasonde Mwenda is deranged, he is deranged,” Kabuswe said.
On the way forward at Seseli after the accident that happened, Kabuswe pleaded with this reporter that it is time to mourn those who were buried in the tragedy.
“For now let us concentrate on our friends that have been buried. That is the concentration now, l don’t want to go into those details. Let’s deal with emotions. Abantu bale losha bane (We are mourning please),” said Kabuswe.
