Zambia’s Outgoing Deputy Head of Mission in Brazil and Veteran Journalist, Samuel Ngoma, has apologised to President Hakainde Hichilema for the unintended consequence of his remarks now “stolen by some unscrupulous social media sites.”
In yesterday’s objective publication here on Daily Revelation, Ngoma called on President Hichilema to make a distinction between diplomats who had served well and those who were disdained.
But Ngoma said some unscrupulous social media sites and Facebook pages plagiarised the story from Daily Revelation and twisted it into insults, saying at no time did he use such vulgar language as: “Stupid. I am educated. HH must be serious.”
“The Daily Revelation story was professionally done as an objective analysis in which I merely pleaded with President Hichilema to walk his talk on meritocracy. That is, retain or recall diplomats on merit as a rule of thumb,” said Ngoma.
The correct and inoffensive headline we carried as originators of the story was: “I am tired of being recalled by successive governments, cries diplomat…where is reward for honesty?”
