Former Minister of Lands Jean Kapata has refused to comment on the interception and consequent seizure of mukula logs by the Ant-corruption Commission (ACC).
On Wednesday morning, ACC spokesperson Queen Chibwe confirmed that the Commission has intercepted and seized 47 trucks loaded with mukula logs, which were enroute to Walvis Bay in Namibia, and Zimbabwe, believed to belong to some politically exposed persons.
But when contacted by Daily Revelation to get her views on the matter as a national leader serving in one of the major parties in the country, Kapata, who is also former PF Mandevu member of parliament and now serving as member of the central committee, said she currently does not want to talk to the media, and will not be forced to talk about anything.
Reminded that the topic under discussion has nothing to do with the PF succession issues currently being discussed in the former ruling party, but it was centred on the mukula logs that have been seized, Kapata accused the media of misquoting her.
“Aah…!! I don’t want to talk to the media myself for now. Please spare me that for personal reasons,” Kapata said.
Further put to her that she is a political figure, who has to continue talking and interacting with the media, Kapata insisted that she does not want to talk to the media at the moment.
“No, no, no! You cannot force me to talk about anything if I don’t want to. Some of us, unfortunately, have been misquoted in the media,” said Kapata.
