A Lusaka based man has said this world could be a better place if each one could lend a helping hand to those who are in need.
Speaking after he donated 100 bags to 100 children and 15 copies of his mentorship book titled Prognosis to pupils at Kabalenge Primary school in Mwansabombwe, Kennedy Chitiya, who is head of monitoring and evaluation at Howard University, said he was motivated to make the donations following the visit he undertook in 2019 while working in Luapula Province for the USAID project.
“I met 3 pupils carrying their books in a sack. I was so touched and decided to pass through the school where I found that almost all the pupils used mealie meal sack for their school bags,” Chitiya said. “I made a promise that I would return with bags for the most vulnerable and so this was to respond to that need with the contribution of some of my friends.”
He said pupils, particularly in rural areas, were struggling with basic necessities like shoes, school bags and books.
