KABWITA REPORTS BUUMBA MALAMBO TO POLICE OVER TRIBAL ASSERTIONS … she told people to vote for Tonga candidates

By Staff Reporter

Charles Kabwita, secretary general of one of the NDC factions, has reported Kafue council chairperson Buumba Malambo to the police for allegedly telling people to vote for a Tonga president, Tonga member of parliament and Tonga councillors in Kafue.

Calling in to Daily Revelation, Kabwita said he had reported the matter, because the words in the video risked causing ethnic strife in the country.

“I have reported the matter to Lusaka Central Police. I went to Woodlands this morning and the people from Woodlands Police advised me to come to Lusaka Central Police because the matter in question is sensitive. I am happy the officers I found did the needful. They where professional, and I am optimistic that this matter will be taken to court because that is what I want,” Kabwita said. “I have reported Malambo concerning the video which circulated, I think I came to see it six or seven days ago, and after I watched and sought for interpretation of what she said, it made me realize this undertaking of reporting her to police, because the words she used in that video have the potential to set this country on fire, that the people of Kafue should vote for a Tonga president, councillor, chairperson and MPs. Now this is conflicting with the motto One Zambia One Nation.”

Kabwita said he could not just sit and watch the video being shared, without reporting the matter to the law enforcement agencies, saying “other “Malambos will rise and think this is okay, this is normal.”

He said Zambia was home to thousands of Rwandese, whom he said had not settled following the genocide in the 1990s.

“Our country is on the verge of fighting against each other because of tribes… I feel that Kajoba has UPND lenses. He can’t see. So I have used my clear lenses to tell him that sir there is this also active case which is fit to go to court,” said Kabwita.
