Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko says the energy, ingenuity and commitment of the Zambian farmer has made it possible for the country to become a net exporter of seed to many countries.
And President Hakainde Hichilema donated through various Zambian stakeholders, 250×50 of basal dressing fertilizer, 250×50 top dressing urea and 1200kg of seed maize to President Boko.
Speaking during the official opening of the 97th Agricultural and Commercial Show at the Showgrounds in Lusaka earlier today, President Boko appreciated the donation.
He said the seeds which came from the Zambian farmer showed an adaption of climate resilience.
“We acknowledge that Zambia is now an exporter of seed to many countries in this region. This is a result of the energy, ingenuity, the commitment and hard work of the Zambian farmer,” said President Boko. “This show is your moment to report, showcase the work of your hard work.”
Earlier, President Hichilema had announced the donation of the fertilizers and seed to the Botswana President who was in the country for two days.
