Local government minister Gift Sialubbalo says government is committed to transforming Kapiri Mposhi District into a thriving city.
Sialubbalo, who paid a courtesy call on Kapiri Mposhi district commissioner, Francis Hasalama, stressed the importance of proper land management to pave way for massive developmental projects.
“Mismanagement of land destroys the beauty of a place, you should make sure that land is properly managed. Great things are coming to Kapiri so make sure that there is effective land administration in the district,” Sialubbalo stated.
And speaking earlier, Hasalama highlighted the district’s poor road network, appealing to the minister to help rehabilitate feeder roads and the road leading to chief Nkole’s palace.
“The roads are in a deplorable state, and we need urgent intervention to improve connectivity and access,” Hasalama said.
Meanwhile, Kapiri Mposhi town council chairperson Brilliant Munyeke reported good collaboration with traditional leaders on land issues, saying the local authority was working towards replanning the district.
The move is expected to boost economic growth and development in Kapiri Mposhi, with the government committed to transforming the area into a thriving city.
