‎Govt commits to pay all farmers by January 10, 2026

‎Finance minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says farmers who supplied their produce from the 2024-2025 to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) will all be paid by January 10, 2026.

‎In a press statement issued yesterday, Musokotwane assured the farmers that payments were progressing.

‎”The delay is regrettable; however, the outstanding payments to all farmers who supplied maize to FRA will be fully settled by 10th January, 2026,” Musokotwane stated. “In the interim, the FRA will continue to receive funds from financing institutions, alongside proceeds

‎from ongoing maize sales, thereby enabling payments to be made on a rolling basis, in tranches.”

‎He stated that the farmers would therefore continue to receive their payments during this period, ahead of the final settlement on January 10,2026

‎”As Government, we recognise the importance of timely payments and the role these funds play in supporting households, sustaining livelihoods, and enabling preparations for the ongoing farming season. We remain fully committed to ensuring that every farmer is paid in full within the stated timeframe,” stated Musokotwane. “I take this opportunity to join His Excellency the President Mr. Hakainde Hichilema in thanking our treasured farmers for their patience and continued contribution to national food security and economic stability.”
