The Power Dynamos bench is trying to play down their projected 20252026 FAZ Super League title wrap with possibly four games to spare that now looks like a mere 3 points away.
Power on Wednesday opened a 12-point lead from 29 games played after a 2-0 home win over Zanaco at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
The Arthur Davies side has 67 points, while second-placed Red Arrows are on 55 points who made the equation easier for Power following their Wednesday 1-1 home draw against Konkola Blades at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Power needs three more points to meet the unsalable mark of 70 points to end the contest for this season’s league campaign.
In a post-match interview after Wednesday’s win over Zanaco, Power assistant coach Songwe Chalwe said that as much as everyone at Arthur Davies is excited about clinching their 9th league title, the team will continue to focus on their objectives with a lot of humility.
Power are chasing to complete their first ever back-to-back league feat and also join Mighty Mufulira Wanderers and Zesco United, tied on 9 league titles behind record 13-time champions Nkana.
“It is not over until the final whistle. So, we still have some games to go, and we will keep on taking each game as it comes until we finish the last game,” Chalwe said.
Goals by midfielder Fredrick Mulambia in the 25th minute and defender Dominic Chanda in the 63rd minute to see Power extend their unbeaten run to 14 successive league games.
Ironically, Power’s last league loss was against Zanaco in their rescheduled week 13 fixture on December 20 away in Lusaka, which the Bankers won 2-0 in what was also their final game of 2025 before heading into the Christmas mid-season break.
Since returning from the recess on January 10, Power has won 12 and drawn 2 games.
“I think the way we have taken the games, I think that’s the main thing. By taking each game as it comes and always keeping our feet on the ground, no matter the results, the good results we are having,” Chalwe said.
“And we always tell the players that we have to just concentrate and respect each and every game which we play. We respect it.”
