Whoever the police head is for Mazabuka is very weak to have allowed the violence against Garry Nkombo happen under their noses, says UPND Lusaka provincial trustee Paul Moonga.
Commenting on the attack on Mazabuka-Central independent candidate for member of parliament, Nkombo, Moonga said the violence was uncalled for and urged police to arrest the “bastards.”
“What happened in Mazabuka is uncalled for. I sent a message in the Whatsapp groups that ‘arrest the bastards’,” said Moonga. “The commanding officer for Mazabuka is very weak. How can he fail to bring to book the thugs who were committing acts of violence under his nose? Mazabuka-Central, that is the headquarters of police in the area.”
Moonga said Nkombo had the right to contest for any political position of his choice.
However, Moonga said he did not agree with the decision by Nkombo to file in as an independent. He said Nkombo did not even apply to contest his former seat under the ruling party. He said Nkombo could have simply maintained the silent posture he had taken, than listening to those who were urging him to re-contest as an independent just because they wanted to eat.
