Citizens First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba says late Mutotwe Kafwaya’s wife, Dinis Ng’andu Kafwaya, told him that she had not gotten any call from the government on how they would assist with the funeral and burial of her deceased husband who was killed by the security wings.
Speaking after he visited the funeral house in Lusaka yesterday, Kalaba said it was his considered view that the state must get involved because the deceased was a former cabinet minister.
”What she told me when I visited the funeral house is she hasn’t gotten a call on how they will assist with the burial. Because he was a former minister,” Kalaba said. “All she wants is closure to this matter.”
Dinis made public pleas and filed a habeas corpus application in the Lusaka High Court seeking information regarding her husband’s whereabouts following a security raid. This followed revelations by opposition leader Brian Mundubile and those in his campaign that Kafwaya had been killed by the security forces.
The government authorities later confirmed that Kafwaya passed away during the joint operations raid.
