Given Lubinda doesn’t have a heart for people and a hand to lead PF, says a PF official in Luapula Province.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Luapula provincial Information and publicity secretary Fewdays Mwape said being PF vice-president is the furthest Lubinda should be allowed to ascend both at party and nationally level.
“Ba acting president ba Given Lubinda bakale, he’s stayed long in the party and has the experience, but umutima wabo teusuma uwingatungulula ichalo iyo. Teti batungulule party, tabalingile (he is not good hearted to lead the country. He can’t lead the party. He is not supposed to). Where he has reached is where he is supposed to reach and not beyond,” Mwape said. “Umutima wabo tabalangulukila iyo. Pantu ufwile ukuba leader afwile ukulangulukila abantu, nokufungulula ukuboko ichabupe. Nomba ba acting president uyo umutima tabakwata sana iyo. Nokuboko tabakwata sana iyo (Lubinda doesn’t have a heart for the people and he is too short handed).”
But asked on information that Lungu now wanted Lubinda to take over from him, Mwape said the Province was unaware about the former president’s wants.
“He may want Lubinda to be there but amatontonkanyo yaba former president tatuleyafwaya. Eyalya ayalufyenye pa General election aya kuchita endorse (He may want Lubinda but we don’t want his thoughts because they cost us the General election),” Mwape said, likening the move to the general conference where he claimed that people were gathered to elect party leaders, but were hoodwinked in that president Lungu had chosen his own leaders. “The way he used us is not the same way we want to be used now. We want to go and vote according to what people on the grassroots are saying. On the ground, if I call Muchinga, Copperbelt, Lusaka, Northern, Muchinga, CK if he has 90 percent then the remaining only have 35.”
Mwape said “The whole entire Luapula Province tuleya na CK (we are all going with Kambwili.”
He claimed that Kambwili has a hand and history in PF, as well as being a gifted speaker and campaigner.
“These others remaining, (Leader of the opposition in parliament Brian) Mundubile, although niba lawyer bekalefye nabu lawyer nifilyafine ku Parliament. Tebu lawyer bwakweba ati kutibaba ba party president. Awee! Bena tachibalingile iyo (He’s a lawyer, but let him stay with his legal qualifications at parliament. That law qualification does not entitle him the PF presidency),” said Mwape. “And we don’t want a repeat of what happened during the general election where the president (Edgar Lungu) and the SG Mwila when they would come to the meetings baletufimba pamenso, telling us that no one will be adopted who is not on the ground.”
