Former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador George Zulu has thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for promising to upgrade the Kasama Airport to bituminous standard, saying it had to take paramount chief of the Ngoni people, Mpezeni to take “civilization to his tribal cousins.”
Amb Zulu writes:
We flew back to Lusaka from Kasama on Airforce 1 after attending Ukusefya pangw’ena ceremony. We had a lovely weekend with Bembas. At least we are proud of one achievement for which the Bemba will appreciate us all their lives—we took civilisation there. The President told them that he will ask cabinet to improve the Kasama Airport to bituminous Standard not the way it is and been. Anyway these Bemba are used to jumping from tree to tree it had to take Mpezeni to bring them to our standards. Thanks you Mr President.”
