I would like to apologise to my dad for the way I went about trying to reach him, says 26-year-old USA citizen who bears striking resemblance to Defence permanent secretary Norman Chipaku, and claims to be his “rejected” son.
Speaking with Daily Revelation Media, Jason, who has told this media organisation that his father rejected him when he was young, leaving his mother to raise him all by herself, but unfortunately passed on in 2008, forcing him to relocate to the United States of America, all the while going through periods of depression and abuse, apologised for the manner he tried to reach out to his purported father.
“I would just like to apologize to my dad , his colleagues and family for the way I went about trying to reach out to him. I love my father and I hope one day we can reconnect on a more positive note. Forgive him but I’m still hurt because I don’t have any direction in life as to how to be a man. My struggles and hardship have taught me to figure things out on my own, my sister has helped me in many ways , I feel bad for her because she’s carried a lot of responsibility that my Dad could have,” Jason narrated. “My mom passed away which was unfortunate and I know she would have wanted a family and for us to get along and be a family with my Dad. I don’t know exactly what their differences were or what made them seperate but I think if my Dad was involved in my life, I could be a better man and I could also learn a lot from him and Vice versa.”
Jason said he was not trying to ruin Chipakupaku’s career or destroy what he had built, and that neither was he after his money, but would just want a father figure in his life.
“I would like to meet him again one day, whether me meet in America, Zambia or anywhere in the world,” said Jason. “I am also very proud of his accomplishments. He seems very hardworking, passionate, dedicated , focused, intelligent, and seems like he has a big heart. I see similar traits within myself.”
