Bishop Billy Mfula has prayed against the strongholds of alcoholism and homosexuality in Zambia, during the ongoing National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and Reconciliation at the Lusaka Showgrounds.
When it came to his time to pray at the event where Republican Vice-President Mutale Nalumango is guest of honour, Bishop Mfula prayed against every stronghold holding the minds of the Zambian people bound, including poverty, witchcraft and alcoholism, and also prayed against homosexuality and transgenderism from taking root in the country.
“No homosexuality, no transgender. We pull down every stronghold and exalt the name of Jesus,” prayed Bishop Mfula, submitting further that Zambia should arise against any power that has held it down.
And Republican Vice-President Mutale Nalumango said the day of prayer transcends all the differences people have, saying the day provides the people with the opportunity to repent from wrongdoing and reconcile with God.
“We must say no to corruption, a cancer that robs our nation…no to Gender Based Violence…no to alcoholism and substance abuse, a danger to one’s health,” said Vice-President Nalumango.
She urged Zambians to say no to falsehoods and perversion, and said the government will continue to work with the Church to steer the nation forward and that the Church was welcome to speak into governance issues.
