I have resisted to comment on the trending Yo Maps discussion taking turns in the country. Unconsciously, among many Zambians the hate towards him and his family has now reached an endemic level.
Let us admit that Yo Maps is an excellent musician to have reached his stardom in recent times and his still growing.
I have come to witness the unpatriotic behaviour of a lot of Zambians towards fellow Zambians in many areas of sphere. It cut across all areas, Politics, business, labour and generally social life.
If one walks in the United Nations offices and other UN Agencies and other international Agencies across the globe, you ll find very few Zambians because of the pull him down (PHD) syndrome, as Mukosha another renowned Zambian musician would say.
We have an appetite to discredit fellow Zambians especially those doing well on flimsy and stupid grounds just because you do not appreciate them.
Yo Maps is a Zambian like all others and his music brings gold and silver to this country unlike many of those calling him all sorts of names. The appetite to bring him down to say the least is nauseating
This is not to say that he should be encouraged to do what others may say it was unpleasant from him and his family but I feel it has grown into full blown hate beyond correction.
Allow the young man to grow!
