The Ministry of Finance says the delivery of inputs through the Farmer Input Support Programme “will be done timely and with the barest minimum disruptions, if any.”
In a press statement issued by Secretary to the Treasury, the administration has released K3.6 billion towards the procurement of inputs under the FISP programme for the 2022-23 farming season.
The statement stated that K13.9 billion was released in October, 2022 to finance public service delivery, with implementation of various developmental projects, programmes and general operations amounting to K2.2 billion, while subsidies, transfers and social benefits received K6 billion, K1.4 billion towards debt service and other liabilities, K3.3 billion on public service wage bill and K1 billion on capital expenditure such as roads, water and sanitation and infrastructure.
K197.3 million was released towards the Social Cash Transfer Programme, with the K1 billion capital expenditure spent on road infrastructure (K430.5 million), schools (K170 million) and K446.9 million Kasama Airport.
The Ministry stated that K3.4 billion Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of the allocated K4 in the 2022 national budget has been released.
