KAMBWILI TO RAISE SNAKE INCIDENT WITH EMBASSIES … the Government planted the snake to kill me

By Staff Reporter

PF presidential aspirant Chishimba Kambwili claims a snake was planted in his holding in order to kill him, saying he will raise the matter of his arrest with embassies in the coming days.

Speaking with Daily Revelation following his one day detention in police cells after he was arrested and charged with unlawful assembly, Kambwili narrated that when he was taken to Balmoral police station in Chilanga, the police cells were very filthy that in one corner there were even feces.

He said those he was with offered that they would buy detergents and cleaning materials, with Zambia’s former Ambassador to Ethiopia Emmanuel Mwamba buying the mops and other materials to clean the cells, and that with the help of the police cleaned the place, but that all of a sudden a snake was spotted in the corner and they instantly killed it.

Kambwili said before that he issued a statement that he was suspicious on why they wanted to detain him despite informing them that he would present himself before the police on Monday.

“That snake was planted to kill me. No question about it. I have been to so many police stations, I have never found a snake in a police cell. Those cells they do keep people there all the time. Why is it that when I went there, there was a snake? These people wanted to kill me, not question about it. There is only one holding cell there. They kept me in that cell, they had put a snake so that when I sleep at night the snake can come and bite me and kill me instantly. That’s what they planned,” Kambwili said. “Nobody can deny that. I have been arrested 16 times, this is the 17th time I have never gone to a police cell where there has been a snake.”

He said he would raise the matter of his arrest and the snake incident with the donors and the embassies accredited to Zambia, particularly those who speak much about democracy like the British High Commission, the USA Embassy and the European Union, saying he alluded to the fact that the arrest was very suspicious.

“The question is why did they take me to Balmoral? Why Balmoral? Balmoral is a bush. Because they knew they can easily get a snake from the bush, plant it on me to kill me. I thank my Lord God that I survived. And the way God is, He reveals what is hidden. Ici Bemba citila ifilala fyamunda yanama,” Kambwili said. “And if it’s not your time, they don’t die. This government wanted to kill me. No question about it. You know that if a snake bites you it will take minutes for you to die … This is a pure attempted assassination. Even the case I was charged with was bailable. They gave police bond to the person I was jointly charged with but they refuse me police bond and took me to Balmoral, after we catch the snake they release me. Even if you are a fool can’t you discern that they wanted to kill you? But I want to tell them nkafwafye imfwa yakwa Lesa. I am Catholic.”

Kambwili said he had never experienced anything like “where a snake was planted in the cell” to kill him”, saying he issued prior statements before he was arrested that the arrests were suspicious.

He said people go to his house to complain to him and therefore it was not his duty to ask them whether they got a permit a not, saying as a leader he must attend to people when they go to him and if he did not they will say he chases people from his house.

Kambwili said when people were protesting one would take it that they had gone through the process of the law, saying if it were him organizing that function he would have made an effort to get a police permit but he was ambushed.

He said even President Hakainde Hichilema himself, just before the elections there were jerabos who travelled all the way from the Copperbelt to his house and he addressed them yet he was not arrested, adding that people travelled from Bweengwa and did some traditional dances at his residence and they were not arrested, including people who go to the UPND secretariat usually attended by many people were not arrested.
