Chief government spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa has charged that PF are political scammers who want to scam the people Zambia that they can do things better.
And Mweetwa says the issue of who becomes President of Zambia should be left to the Zambian people to decide.
Speaking with Daily Revelation on PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri’s call for former president Edgar Lungu to come back to active politics, Mweetwa said Phiri has not even given her basis for making such a wild assumption.
“Those are her views. She has not even given a basis. What is the basis for such a wild assumption ahh she should not forget…let me put it this way, I am not shocked Mumbi Phiri is thinking that way. Has she forgotten that PF are political scammers? You see a scammer will tell you when they see an opportunity and will lie to you that they will get you an opportunity such as recruitment or something like that,” Mweetwa said.
“Then they will tell you deposit money in this account. Once you deposit this money that is the last time a scammer is communicating with you. So PF are political scammers. They want to scam the people of this country into believing that they will do anything.”
He wondered what PF wanted to come back and do which they did not do in the last 10 years.
“They have not told us, do they have a new manifesto? No, do they have new policies that they countering with our policy no, the national budget that was presented do they have a consolidated …and say this what we stand for as PF? What is the programme? Their programmes is political forever. So the people of Zambia will not be scammed … so I am warning the people of Zambia to be aware of political scammers masquerading as rebranding. It is not truthful,” Mweetwa said.
And Mweetwa said the people of Zambia won elections through President Hakainde Hichilema.
He said issues of who becomes President of Zambia should be left to the Zambian people.
“So these issues where someone says me I will be president, me I will do that we leave to the people of this country to make a decision at that time. For now we urge our colleagues in the opposition let’s talk about policy, and shelf politics for a moment because people of Zambia don’t eat politics, people of Zambia get benefit from policy implementation,” said Mweetwa.
The minister added that the opposition should critic the government over the policy that are being implemented.
He said government expects the opposition to be able to scan, read through in between all the line of the budget and give feedback on the grey areas that the government need to pay attention to.
“Not politics every day, no leadership is about policy implementation. That is what we want …we call our colleagues to place emphasis. We cannot make president Lungu a national debate. Of what consequence is he to the living…livelihood of the people? He was president he removed. And when he was removed the people of Zambia moved on,” said Mweetwa.
