Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo has sued Zambian rapper Mwila Musonda, popularly known as SlapDee for failing to honour a performance contract.
According to a letter of demand from the Small Claims Court, Tembo wants SlapDee to pay back the K10, 000 he received as down payment upon being engaged to perform at his lodge in Ngwerere, but never showed up.
“I am hereby
demanding from you the sum of K10,000 plus costs and interest being in respect of money refund of deposit made towards entertainment services not provided,” read the letter in part,
When contacted to give details of the claim, Tembo explained that on August 26, this year, SlapDee was contacted to perform at a function to take place at his lodge in Ngwerere, but he didn’t show up, even after the preparations were done.
He said the total contract payment was K20,000 and Tembo paid 50 percent deposit of K10,000.
Tembo added that SlapDee refused to refund him saying he was just being arrogant.
“We proceeded to get in touch with him and asked him to refund us the deposit we had made. The total contract amount was K20,000 so we paid a 50 per cent deposit of 10,000. He refused to refund so we decided to take the matter to court. He was just being arrogant about it that’s is why we went to court,” Tembo said.
He said after the claim was filed, SlapDee committed to refund the money but it’s been almost two weeks now and he says he is looking for money.Related
