Foster trade, investment, Hichilema urges new ambassadors

President Hakainde Hichilema has implored new ambassadors to Zambia to foster trade and investment linkages with Zambia during their tenure of office for the mutual benefit of all.

Speaking when he received letters of credence from Karolina Stasiak, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Zambia and COMESA; Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Gian Luca Perici, Ambassador of the Holy See to Zambia; Ingrid Marie Mickelson, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Zambia, Adam Burakowski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Zambia and Jean-Marie Somet, Ambassador of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire to the Republic of Zambia, President Hichilema said assured the ambassadors of the government’s commitment to callaborate in achieving tangible outcomes.

“We called upon Their Excellencies to foster trade and investment linkages during their tenure, for the mutual benefit of our people, and assured them of our Government’s commitment to collaborate in achieving tangible outcomes,” the President said.

“We reiterated our unwavering commitment to the two pillars of Peace, Stability, and Security on one hand, and Economic Diplomacy aimed at job creation and poverty reduction on the other.

We have observed regional and international instability, exemplified by the conflict in Ukraine, which has led to soaring fuel and fertilizer prices, consequently affecting global food prices. This underscores our long-standing belief that instability anywhere has ripple effects everywhere,” said President Hichilema. “We extended our congratulations to Their Excellencies on their appointments as Ambassadors to our country, recognizing this as a testament to the strong relations their nations share with Zambia.”
