A 25-year old woman in Kapiri Mposhi has committed suicide after her father scolded her over the missing K3, 000 from her parents’ home.
The deceased identified as Ruth Mambwe is said to have
hanged herself to a tree using a rope.
Both Zambia Police sources and father to the deceased Patrick Mambwe confirmed the development in an interview with Daily Revelation.
“Police preliminary reports suggest that Ruth Mambwe decided to take her life after being scolded by the father over the missing money, which prompted her to hang herself to a tree using a rope. Ruth is also believed to have taken the money from her parents’ home and went for a drinking spree with some boyfriends. But when she realized that she had run out of the said money, she decided to take her life,” Police sources said.
“This occurred around Zambia compound area. She was only discovered lifeless on Monday midmorning.”
And father to the now deceased, Patrick Mambwe, expressed regret over the untimely death of his daughter.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited in Kapiri Mposhi district hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem and burial.
