By Staff Reporter

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has cleared Ministry of information media director Thabo Kawana indicating that there was no corruption in the manner he acquired the K594,277 for the purchase of a P-Series vehicle for his wife from Southern Cross Motor Limited.

Responding to Daily Revelation, the commission stated that they instituted investigations into the matter and found

no wrongdoing on the part of Kawana.

“I, further wish to inform you that the Commission instituted investigations into the
source of funding for the purchase of a motor vehicle by Mr. Thabo Kawana.
Investigations have established that Mr. Kawana obtained a Loan on 15th
November,2022 from the Public Service Micro Finance Company amounting to
K594,277 to facilitate the purchase of a motor vehicle GWM P-Series at Southern
Cross Motor Ltd. These funds were distributed directly to Southern Cross Motor
Ltd,” stated commission head of corporate communication Timothy Moono. “Therefore,
investigations show that there is no corruption in the manner the motor vehicle
was procured as the source of funding was verified and found to be legal.”

He also stated that the commission was not investigating ministers Dr Situmbeko
Musokotwane and Charles Milupi over the appointment of board members at the
National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) and Road Development Agency (RDA).

“I wish to inform you that the Commission does not have information on the above
allegations against Minister of Infrastructure Hon. Charles Milupi and Finance
Minister Hon. Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane. Therefore, the commission is not investigating
the two Ministers,” stated Moono.
