“For us we support the idea of the opposition alliance, I think … it is the only way that we can be able to unseat the current government. Which has really underperformed to the disappointment of many Zambians. And at the moment we are with the opposition alliance in spirit and at the right time we shall be with them physically. But overall we support the idea, we support the concept and l think it is the right direction for the opposition,’’ Tembo said.
When asked when that right time will be, Tembo refused to say when, because his party has its internal strategy which they are following which he said is not for public consumption.‘
“For now we can only be with the opposition alliance in spirit and that we can only be with them at a later time but we support the concept.
Asked if his party was invited to the alliance, Tembo said he did want to go to the nitty gritties of the alliance because it might raise some controversies, because the alliance has raised some controversies at its inception and therefore he did not want to add more controversy by commenting on whether he was invited to the alliance or not.
“Well for us we wouldn’t want to comment on the nitty gritties of our interactions with the alliance, because you have seen the controversy arose from the initial inception, so we wouldn’t want to add to that controversy. So unfortunately we can not answer that particular question,’’ said Tembo.
