FAUSTINA CALLS ZNBC BOSS TO REGISTER COMPLAINT … over coverage of President getting on a plane

Faustina Sinyangwe says she has called the ZNBC director general to register her complaint over the live-coverage of the President getting on a plane.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Sinyangwe, who is a broadcaster and former Matero member of parliament, said she called ZNBC boss, Malolela Lusambo over her concerns that the public media could properly utilise its resources by covering other more important issues, than conducting live-coverages of President Hichilema’s departures at the airports.

“I spoke to Malolela Lusambo. I said ‘I am concerned, why are you even going to cross over to city airport one and half hours before?’ He said ‘no, it’s not only us, it’s even others’. But I said I am not concerned about private TV stations. That (ZNBC) is a public broadcaster,” Sinyangwe said. “It’s our money and you are supposed to be a pacesetter to say you are not supposed to do that. What was so special? You should have just sent the cameraman and a reporter then he gives us a news item that the President left. Do you need to take all the cameras there? Do you know how expensive it is? You are supposed to advise.”

Sinyangwe continued.

“I said ‘if you want tell them that I am the one who said it.’ He said ‘no it’s not them who push us. It’s just broadcasting.’ I said yes, and that is wrong, you shouldn’t be doing that, people are talking,” said Sinyangwe. “I said (if you insist on covering live) at least you can even cross over when he has come. You know yesterday they crossed over even when there was no person there. They were just showing the airport. I don’t know where we will reach.”
