The departure of Davies Mwila from the office of Patriotic Front Secretary General is good riddance, says former Patriotic Front Kapiri Mposhi district youth chairman Brian Nkolola.
In an interview with Daily Revelation, Nkolola said that the former Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Mwila was a wrong person to be the Chief Executive Officer of the Patriotic Front.
“I want to be very frank and objective. In the same vein, I wish to state that I will speak my mind. As the PF starts restructuring, re-organising and rebuilding; my strong recommendation, proposal and emphatic reasoning is that we need to rebrand, restructure and rebuild the Patriotic Front; as a political party,” said Nkolola. “And I wish to take this opportunity to state that our former Secretary General was a let down…he made us lose the August 12 general elections. He was a wrong person to occupy the office of Secretary General at a critical time we had crucial elections last month. And I have no apologies to make. The departure of Davies Mwila from the office of Patriotic Front Secretary General is good riddance. Mr Davies Mwila and Mr Samuel Mukupa should rest for now and leave space for fresh blood.”
Nkolola was, however, quick to state that the former ruling party does not need to rush for a national convention; but, instead take the route of having structural party electoral executive meetings that should be put o interim basis.
He stressed that the PF must identify loyal PF members that would stir the fortunes of the former ruling party to greater heights so that it gets back into power.
“Going forward, I would suggest that Mr Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba be accorded an opportunity to serve as Patriotic Font party president on interim basis; to be deputised by Honourable Given Lubinda. Honourable Chishimba Kambwili should assume the position of Patriotic Front national chairman while Honourable Joe Malanji should come in as Patriotic Front Secretary General on interim basis; as we prepare for a national convention,” said Nkolola.
And Nkolola has reiterated that the Patriotic Front needs to restructure, re-organise and rebuild in order for it to remain relevant on the Zambian political scene.
“Whether we like it or not, and without debate, we need to rebrand, the Patriotic Front needs to restructure, re-organise and rebuild in order for it to remain relevant on the Zambian political scene,” Nkolola stressed.
Meanwhile, Nkolola, who was the PF Kapiri Mposhi council chairperson candidate in the August 12 general election, has urged “loyal Green PF members” to stick to the party despite it losing power to the UPND.
“I have personally been a member of the Patriotic Front for 19 years. And my humble appeal to the loyal PF members…the true Green Patriotic Front members should not resign or defect to other political parties. It is not prudent to leave the PF at this critical moment when we have just lost a general election. The true Greens should stick to the Patriotic Front,” said Nkolola.
He disclosed that he will contest for the Kapiri Mposhi parliamentary seat on the PF ticket in the 2026 general election.
“At district council chairperson I lost by about 4, 000 votes. So I am going to round the whole district of Kapiri Mposhi and convince the people to vote for me at parliamentary level in 2026. I am reloading right now. And I will soon start doing my ground work,” Nkolola added
