President Hakainde Hichilema has fired Muchinga Province minister Henry Sikazwe and Gregory Ngowani as government deputy chief whip.
The President has also terminated the appointments of Muchinga Province permanent secretary Henry Mukungule, Lusaka Province permanent secretary Robert Kamalata, and Luapula Province permanent secretary Mighty Mumba.
President Hichilema has also dismissed Controller of Internal Audit at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning Ringo Zulu and Gregory Ngowani as government deputy whip, with immediate effect.
The President also terminated the appointments of Joseph Akafumba, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Augustine Kasongo, Copperbelt Province permanent secretary and Mwamba Peni, permanent secretary special duties pending redeployment.
In a statement issued by principal private secretary Bradford Machila, the the President has appointed Njavwa Simutowe as minister for Muchinga Province, Nason Musonda as minister for Luapula Province and Likando Mufalali as government deputy chief whip.
Others appointed are Mulele Mulele, as permanent secretary (Economic Management & Finance at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning), Mwaka Mukebesa, permanent secretary (Budget & Economic Affairs) at Ministry of Finance and National Planning and Prudence Kaoma as permanent secretary (Planning & Administration), Ministry of Finance and National Planning.
“President Hakainde Hichilema has pursuant to Article 270 of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia terminated the appointments of the officials with immediate effect,” Machila stated.
The President has also appointed Lazarous Mwanza as new permanent secretary for the Copperbelt Province, while Prudence Chinama is permanent secretary for Luapula Province and Mathews Chilekwa as permanent secretary for Muchinga Province.
And President Hichilema has in pursuant to Article 92 (I) of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia made transfers at permanent secretary level.
The Head of State has transferred Maambo Hamaundu from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to the Ministry of Defence, while Norman Chipakupaku has been moved from the Ministry of Defence to the Office of the Vice-President as DMMU National Coordinator.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Pollen who served as DMMU National Coordinator under the Office of the Vice-President has been moved to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, while Patrick Mucheleka who served at Cabinet Office has been taken to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, and Joe Kalusa has also been moved from Cabinet Office to Lusaka Province.
“President Hichilema has thanked the officials whose contracts have been terminated for their service rendered to the Government of the Republic of Zambia and wishes them well in their future endeavors,” read the statement in part.
