Hakainde Hichilema is tacitly endorsing his cadres indiscipline and unruliness towards Batuke Imenda, Economic Front (EF) leader Wynter Kabimba has charged.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kabimba said the cadres in the party have been encouraged by the contradicting silent and non-silent messages coming from the President, Home Affairs minister Jack Mwiimbu, UPND spokesperson and Southern Province minister Cornelius Mweetwa and party secretary general Batuke Imenda among others.
Kabimba referenced his own experience when he served as PF secretary general under the then ruling PF of Michael Sata that the president then remained mute when party cadres were calling for his removal in the same manner President Hichilema has remained mute on Imenda.
“That is indiscipline from the party cadres. I have not heard HH say that that is indiscipline, neither Sata did that. You can’t listen to indiscipline for God’s sake. If they have any issues they write formally,” Kabimba said, asserting that one could easily notice that President Hichilema supported the moves. “Exactly! How can you have a situation where the chief executive officer of the party is being insulted by junior members of the party and the other senior members are making lukewarm statements? How can you keep quiet and hope the party is cohesive? I expected the President to come out and say this must stop.”
Kabimba said it was the same indiscipline which killed the PF as it was allowed to grow unabated.
“This is the kind of indiscipline which exponentially grows. From the same party the spokesperson says that we are a listening party. The guy who is being touted for the same position says if that is what people want, who am I? Didn’t they see how this culture of indiscipline destroyed PF?” asked Kabimba. “If you don’t have a party that is disciplined you can’t run a government that will deliver. That is what killed PF.”
