HH NEEDS TO TAKE M’MEMBE SERIOUSLY, SAYS IMMEDIATE PAST PF MP

By Staff Reporter

Immediate past Chifunabuli member of parliament Ponde Mecha has described the opposition political parties in the country as jokers, and that the only ones making sense and providing credible checks and balances are Dr Fred M’membe and Chishala Kateka.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Mecha said as far as he was concerned it was over for the former ruling PF, and that talks of one day bouncing to power were a figment of their own imagination.

He said it was time the country dealt away with jokers.

“For the PF it’s over. It’s time we dealt away with jokers. Most of the opposition you see are just jokers. Just a few are making sense to provide checks and balances to the ruling UPND. UPND was just voted for nine months ago, therefore they need a lot of support to deliver on their promises. One of the ways to give them support is by offering credible checks and balances,” Mecha said, adding that the UPND should be alive to the fact that not all the opposition parties offering checks and balances meant them ill.

He continued.

“If you can find political parties that offer credible checks and balances, listen to them. The only advise I can give UPND is to render a listening ear especially to (Socialist Party leader) M’membe. He talks a lot of sense and what he talks about is about building Zambian, while PF is talking about getting back into power. Who does that?” asked Mecha. “We must first prove that they are offering credible checks and balances. And I think M’membe is making a lot of sense. (PeP leader) Sean Tembo and (New Heritage Party leader) Chishala Kateka have been contributing a lot. But sometimes I think Sean Tembo plays jokes. He has serious issues to raise, but sometimes the way he delivers them is full of jokes. M’membe looks serious and HH should take him serious. He needs to heed advice from M’membe.”
