President Hakainede Hichilema has extended his heartfelt wishes to all Zambians, both at home and abroad, as the country commemorates 33 years since it was declared Christian nation.
In a message on his Facebook Page yesterday, President Hichilema prayed that God blesses the nation and grant the country peace, stability and prosperity.
Zambia proudly commemorates 33 years since her declaration as a Christian Nation.
“We extend our heartfelt wishes to all Zambians, both at home and abroad, for a joyful and meaningful Commemoration Day,” read the statement in part.
On Friday last week, Chairperson of the organizing committee on the declaration
of Zambia as a Christian nation Chairperson Bishop Billy Mfula said he expected Zambia at 60 years of independence to put away it’s childish ways and begin to think as a grown up nation.
Speaking at a press briefing at Anglican cathedral of the holy cross, in Lusaka on Friday, on the celebration of 33 years anniversary since Zambia was declared as a Christian nation, Bishop Mfula saidthe country had grown spiritually and physically, therefore, every citizen was expected to behave maturely in every sphere of life.
