HH’s performance has been below average – Kalaba … He’s now an installed full blown dictator

By Chinoyi Chipulu

Citizens First leader Harry Kalaba has described President Hakainde Hichilema’s performance since being elected into office as dismal and below average.

In a letter to review President Hichilema’s performance, Kalaba stated that Hichilema had taken away peoples liberties and freedom of speech by enacting the Cyber Crimes laws which installed him as a full blown dictator.

He stated that Hichilema had stopped listening to the views of the very people who hired and gave him a chance to rule after rejecting him five times, by forcing constitutional amendments which were not in national interest, but only designed to perpetuate his illegal stay in power

“This is my personal letter to you, and I’m writing it in the language that you can easily understand. In the private sector where you spent your years, there is a practice called performance reviews. The essence of these reviews is to develop a culture that rewards high performance and to recommend separation or other interventions for non performers,” read the letter in part.

Kalaba stated that looking at the circumstances under which the President was hired by the Zambian people after rejecting his application five times, he needed to demonstrate that he was a high performer that deserved to stay in the job after the expiry of his first term of contract.

He stated that President Hichilema needed to prove and demonstrate why Zambians should re-hire him and extend his contract for another five year term.

“However, your performance under review has been dismal and below average. You have rewarded people who gave you a chance after failing 5 times with a terrible economy, ballooning foreign debt due to secretive and excessive borrowing, Increasing cases of corruption in your administration, extended long hours of loadshedding and high cost of living beyond the reach of most Zambians,” he stated.

Kalaba stated the nation under President Hichilema’s watch was deeply divided, taking people away from their unitary tradition of promoting One Zambia One Nation.

He stated that the President had taken away the rule of law by usurping power and independence of Parliament, Judiciary and all investigative arms of the government.

“Given the above glaring failures and many others confirming your dismal performance, you have no business seeking reelection or extending your mandate after 2026,” he stated.

Kalaba stated that Zambians needed to breath because today, they could not do so as the President was choking them with a heavy hand of a dictator.

He stated that it was clear that President Hichilema was better off remaining in the private sector because public service was alien to him.
