United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) vice chairperson Chishala Kateka says President Hakainde Hichilema is facing reality as he was fond of demonising former president Edgar Lungu the time he was in the opposition.
In an interview with Daily Revelation last Monday, Kateka said President Hichilema was telling the people that he would be able to do whatever he was promising.
“But he and I know what is happening to him, he was sowing a seed as well because for me, I find him not to be a very humble person. He is a very proud person,” Kateka said.
She said the President needed to change his leadership style or things would be hard for him because he did everything by himself, thinking that everybody else did not know what they were doing.
Kateka further said the President should not fight Lungu but rather work together with him in order for him to learn something.
“And he does not bother to consult because if he bothered to consult, the friend would have handed over and told him to watch out for this one, look out for this, look out that, avoid this one. But he has decided to fight the friend and therefore, he is not learning, he is not being helped,” she added.
Kateka advised Hichilema to bring Lungu closer and learn some governing skills.
“What he should have done is to bring his friend closer and he could have given him advice about the dos and dons, what to avoid, He should humble himself and ask for help,” said Kateka.
She urged President Hichilema to desist from ‘a one man one show’ kind of leadership.
