Former PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri says she doesn’t expect former president Edgar Lungu to treat President Hakainde Hichilema the way he is is being treated, once he returns to power.
And Phiri says President Hichilema has missed an opportunity to be looked at like the Nelson Mandela of Zambia by treating those in opposition right.
Mumbi said it is her prayer that whoever will take over from President Hichilema will not perpetuate political enmity.
She said it was for this reason that she is calling on president Lungu to come back to politics.
“All I can say is he has missed an opportunity to be looked at as Mandela and my prayer is whoever is coming… that’s why I have called on president Edgar Lungu to come back to politics. He should go to Cabinet and collect the letter. He is passing through a lot and I don’t expect him to do this to HH when he comes back,” Mumbi said. “It has to come to an end it’s not normal.”
Mumbi said the country should stop looking at abnormal things as normal.
She also added that she doesn’t wish what is happening to Esther to happen to Mutinta once her husband leaves office.
On Friday, Phiri caused drama at the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court when she pleaded with president Lungu to go to Cabinet Office and collect the letter in which he indicated that he had retired from active politics.
