I’m not interfering in investigations against Lubinda’s attackers – C/Province PS

Central Province Permanent Secretary Milner Mwanakampwe has vehemently denied allegations of interfering with the investigation into the attack on Patriotic Front acting President Given Lubinda.

Mwanakampwe has been accused by PF chairperson for information and publicity Emmanuel Mwamba that he held a clandestine meeting with suspects involved in the attack.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Revelation, Mwanakampwe dismissed the allegations as baseless and malicious.

He said he was not a violent person and was very close to Given Lubinda.

“Mwamba doesn’t know me; he’s good at talking, but if he starts talking about me, I’ve got a right to respond. I’m very close to Given Lubinda, and I’m not a violent person,” Mwanakampwe disclosed.

Mwanakampwe further disclosed that on the day of the attack, he was in Ngabwe district, and on the day Mwamba claims he met the people who attacked Lubinda, he was in Livingstone attending a meeting.

“So how can I be in both Livingstone and Kabwe at the same time? Mwamba should stop telling lies,” he stated.

Mwanakampwe has been accused of having met with suspects James Thole, Bernard Mbesuma, and Sharon Chiputa at Zambezi Source Lodge, instructing them to surrender some individuals to the police and assuring them that they would be released after being charged with a minor offense.

In a separate matter, Mwanakampwe said that Mulungushi Textiles will be fully operational in December.

He said the minister of Commerce Chipoka Mulenga would soon announce the full details on the issue.
