JJ VOWS TO ENSURE LAW IS ENFORCED AGAINST UPND THUGS

By Daily Revelation Reporter

Petauke-Central independent member of parliament Emmanuel says he will ensure that the law is enforced against the more 15 UPND thugs who attacked a PASME Radio station presenter Lovemore Phiri for merely asking the farmers how the farming season was going.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Banda condemned the cadres thuggery, particularly given that President Hakainde Hichilema has clearly said he did not want cadreism, saying it was like the thugs and their sponsors wanted to frustrate the President with their violent actions.

He said the attack was even worse off that it was targeted at the journalist who was simply disseminating information, adding that it was the same media the UPND relied upon to get into office.

Banda said he will uphold the oath he took to the President by upholding the law to ensure that just reward was enforced against the violent thugs.

More than 15 UPND thugs stormed PASME Radio station and beat up presenter, Phiri, and in the process damaged the sound processing unit and stole one audio cable. They also stole a phone and K300 from him.

During the programme, the presenter was asking farmers about how prepared they were for the coming farming season, with some farmers who called in complaining that the fertilizer packs were not enough, something that angered the thugs to storm the station stemming from their ill-conceived view that the station was decampaigning the ruling party ahead of the by-election in Lusangazi.
