Kabimba not being human for siding with my nephew – jailed Kambwili … no wonder party yakwe yalitosa

By Daily Revelation Reporter

Wynter Kabimba is not a proper human being for siding with my ‘mourning’ nephew Charles Kabwita, says jailed PF central committee member Chishimba Kambwili.

Speaking with Daily Revelation on the remarks by Economic Front (EF) leader Kabimba that he sided with Kabwita for saying that his uncle was not a trustworthy person to urge other opposition leaders to set aside their egos and unite to remove the UPND, Kambwili said it was inhuman and uncultured for Kabimba to support Kabwita’s insults on his uncle.

Kambwili said there were no permanent enemies in politics and if one were not ready to tread along then they were not fit to be called a leader.

“For Wynter if he differs with you he has differed with you for life. That is not being human,” Kambwili said. “And if anybody can support a nephew insulting or saying bad things against their uncle then that is not a proper human being because even Kabimba has got nephews and nieces, and we expect that nephews and nieces must respect their uncles.

“So if Kabimba can take advantage of issues that he does not even understand then he’s a wrong chap in politics. I am sorry to say no wonder his party has never grown. Party yakwe yalitosa (it doesn’t grow) because of his attitude and he should change. Party yalitosa. Nobody wants to join Wynter Kabimba because of that same attitude of unforgiving heart.”

He accused Kabimba of being a loner.

“All I can say is that I will not respond to Wynter Kabimba because Wynter Kabimba is a loner. He’s not a person who trusts in working with other people. So when he hears that people are trying to work together he thinks his enemies are everybody’s enemies,” Kambwili said “Because this unity we are calling for as long as there is M’membe there, Wynter will be negative.”

Kambwili said in the same manner Kabimba was saying he was untrustworthy, he wondered which Zambian out there could trust Kabimba because when he was fired by late president Sata from being minister of Justice everybody celebrated.

But he said when he was fired by former president Edgar Lungu, people sympathized with him, wondering who therefore the people must trust between the two of them, arguing that Kabimba was hated by everybody including “chickens.”

He said no one could survive in politics with an unforgiving heart he accused Kabimba of carrying.

Kambwili said late president Frederick Chiluba dribbled Michael Sata on the MMD presidency and that Willie Nsanda even beat him, but Sata forgave them both and worked with them.

He said politics was dynamic, and that in politics it was wise for people to choose who the better devil was, urging Kabimba to reconcile with his nemesis Socialist Party leader Dr Fred M’membe in the same manner he (Kambwili) and Lungu had buried their hatchet.

He said even President Hakainde Hichilema used to call Dr Guy Scott as ‘muzungu opusa’ but today they were working together.

Kambwili accused Kabimba of hating him from the PF days and that he does not even pretend about it.

He described Kabimba as having ended up to be a ‘radio politician’, without any sort of mobilization and members in his “nashala neka” party.

“Is he not ashamed that he started that party earlier than M’membe’s Socialist Party? But M’membe’s party has grown. He’s able to forgive and forget bakashalafye filyafine na Chikwelete (He will remain just like that with Chikwelete because all the people have run away from him),” Kambwili said. “He must do a personal introspection why his party doesn’t grow and he has remained with only 15 members the whole country.”

He said for his part he has forgiven whatever his nephew Kabwita said about him, describing the now UPND member as a blood relative he could not throw away.

Kabwita has accused Kambwili of trying to get complainants in the late Obed Kasongo case to withdraw the matter and settle it outside court to protect Bowman Lusambo, but Kambwili described the allegations as neither “here nor there.”

“I don’t want to say anything about Kabwita. In my language they say ulelila tabamucheba pakanwa (do not seal the mouth of the person who is crying). Let Kabwita say whatever he wants to say because I think the young man is mourning,” said Kambwili. “But once he finishes mourning we can talk as relatives. But I have no hard feelings against him. He is my nephew and will always be my nephew. The blood that runs in him runs in me.”

Kambwili made the remarks the previous night before he was sentenced to five months imprisonment for hate speech by the Kasama Magistrate courts.

This was in the case where Kambwili was charged with the offence of expressing hatred and ridicule against the people of Southern Province based on tribe and place of origin.

Kambwili is expected to appeal the conviction.
