Lawyer representing independent Petauke-Central member of parliament Emmanuel Jay-Jay Banda says he and the family have now been allowed to visit him at Maina Soko Medical Hospital where he is currently admitted and receiving treatment.
On Monday, Banda fell sick during interrogation at Ibex Police Station shortly after he was discharged from the hospital.
And following up on his health status, his lawyer Makebi Zulu told Daily Revelation in interview that Banda was still in hospital and that his family had now been allowed to visit him.
“My client JJ is still unwell and in hospital at Maina Soko. I’m now able to visit him as well as his family,” Zulu said.
Asked if he had received response from Attorney General’s office where his client is demanding an apology in the manner he was handled when he was taken to Maina Soko Medical Center in from Medlands Hospital, Makebi said the only response they got from the AG was that he took instructions.
“On the AG’s letter, the only response we got was they were taking instructions and we have since taken an action. We filed an action in court as a way of starting an action,” said Makebi.
Efforts to get the AG failed as his phone went an answered.
