Leicester looking to cash in on Daka

Patson Daka is reportedly leaving demoted English Premier League side Leicester City after five years at the club.

The Chipolopolo striker joined Leicester in 2021 from Austrian side RB Salzburg for a fee of UK£23 million.

However, Daka has endured a modest stay in England that has also seen technical decisions and injury hamper his progress at Leicester.

According to Sportsboom.com, Leicester are allegedly eager to cash in on Daka as they prepare to rebuild down in the English Championship.

“With just one goal in 22 appearances and the club’s relegation, Daka seeks a fresh start. Everton had interest in him, and Leicester will cash in to rebuild after Jamie Vardy’s departure. Despite his struggles, Daka, 26, is eager to prove himself in England,” Sportsboom stated.

“His contract expires next summer, and chiefs at the club want to cash in ahead of their rebuild to try and regain their top-flight status at the first attempt.”

Everton were reportedly interested in signing the Chipolopolo striker during the January 2025 transfer window.

Daka arrived at Leicester after scoring 54 goals in 82 appearances that helped Salzburg win four successive Austrian league crowns.

However, the same cannot be said about his Leicester stay where he netted 17 goals in 107 matches.

Meanwhile, Daka’s last injury that he sustained during Leicester’s final week of pre-season last August also saw him miss Chipolopolo’s entire successful 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Daka later returned to competitive action in November but has yet to come back for Chipolopolo action.
