Given Lubinda must stop masquerading as PF acting president, PF central committee member Paul Moonga has charged.
And Moonga said as opposed to former Works and Supply minister Sylvia Chalikosa saying that PF members are indisciplined, the indiscipline is among “a few characters in the central committee who insult publicly” – in apparent reference to former Lands minister Jean Kapata’s insults – which were defended by Chalikosa as amalumbo.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Moonga said he was upset with Lubinda for allegedly saying that the PF youths were in hiding and therefore the party could not participate in the celebrations.
“First Lubinda should stop calling himself as acting president. President Lungu is there he will handover at the conference. He (Lubinda) is not acting president. I have not seen any letter from the president to appoint him as acting president. He must stop masquerading as acting president. (2) Lubinda says we couldn’t commemorate woman’s day because most of the youths are hiding. Hiding from what? Are they criminals?” Moonga asked. “What are they hiding? Are they criminals? Why himself Lubinda is available? Why should youths be hiding in PF? What did they do for them to go in hiding? If they stole and did anything wrong, the law should visit them. And I found it extremely absurd that Lubinda could be saying we won’t participate in an international day calendar, not Zambia, this is a calendar for the whole women of the world for their rights to participate. And Lubinda can even be telling the Zambian people, a 20 years parliamentarian who knows the constitution of Zambia better than myself.?
Moonga challenged Lubinda to provide the names of the youths who were in hiding, as he did not know of any himself.
“If they are hiding what did they do? Lubinda now should be accountable for the youths who are hiding. If my son stole I will tell the police. The police should now take Lubinda to task why he is telling us, because I don’t know any youth myself as Paul Moonga, member of the central committee, former chairman of Lusaka Province any youth who is hiding,” Moonga said. “Are we harboring criminals as PF? Harboring a criminal is a serious offence under the penal code of Zambia. I am upset and I don’t want to compromise my status as Paul Moonga. What is right is right…I will not become a party cadre just because of stupid politics of opposing everything. So I want my vice-president Lubinda to tell the Zambian nation where are those youths who are hiding? A youth is both female and male. Who are those female youths who are running away from their big day?”
Asked on Chalikosa’s statement that the PF membership was indisciplined and did not want to follow the directives from the leadership, Moonga said: “I say in fact there is indiscipline in the central committee. We are finding members in the central committee insulting each other. Our members from the grassroots are extremely highly disciplined. I don’t think I have heard any party cadre insulting insults in the press in my life.”
“And those are the few characters and not too many. The are few bad eggs in central committee who feel that they own the party because of the little coins they have in the pocket. And think they can hike us at ransom. Unfortunately Paul Moonga won’t fold his hands. I will die in PF I will not allow it,” said Moonga. “I want to advise my sister Chalikosa, keep away from the team you associate yourself. They don’t mean well. I know the team they are very few. Right. And if I am invited for any celebration be at State House by HH and his team to Independence I will go there because it’s not his day. It’s our day. It’s a national day. But I am upset with honourable Lubinda’s judgement of trying to defend himself.”
