Those willing to disparage other members of the party in the press shall not be used for others to do the same, says PF acting president Given Lubinda.
Reacting to fellow central committee member Paul Moonga’s assertion that Lubinda must stop masquerading as PF acting president as he had not seen any letter appointing him to such a position, Lubinda said he does not react to matters he discuses with “his family” in the press, saying in similar fashion he could not discuss matters arising from members of the central committee in the press.
“If one commits an offence you don’t go about committing an offence because of that. And if one chooses that it is right to do something that is not right for the other, you don’t oblige the other to do the same. That is why we are different,” Lubinda said. “Those who are willing to disparage other members of the party in the press shall not be used for others to do the same. So whether he has said it or not, I have told you that I don’t respond to issues of my family in the press, in the same fashion that I wouldn’t respond to issues concerning the central committee of the party in the press.”
But asked to clarify if he was implying that Moonga had committed an offence, Lubinda accused the journalist of trying to put words in his mouth.
“I have told you, I have told you that I will not respond, so don’t ask any further question…I have told you very clearly, listen I have told you clearly, I would not respond to matters affecting members of the central committee in the press, finished. That’s the only thing you can quote me on,” said Lubinda, and immediately hung up.
