Former president Edgar Lungu’s political adviser Chris Zumani Zimba says the security of Lungu is compromised and weak, arguing that President Hakainde Hichilema has no thoughts whatsoever of protecting him.
In an interview with Daily Revelation yesterday, Zimba said if the Zambian government wanted to restore security to Lungu, they should only consider giving him a monthly security fee to hire security of his choice.
He said until the attitude of President Hakainde Hichilema changed towards Lungu, the country should think that what happened to Trump in the United States could happen to Lungu.
“In Zambia, a former president is denounced and persecuted by the sitting president. A former president becomes the number one state enemy and is treated and harassed as such from all angles. The sitting president treats the former president, especially one who is still in active politics as a personal enemy who must be dealt with at all cost,” he said.
And commenting on the wrangles in United Kwacha Alliance (UKA), Zimba said it was unfortunate that UKA misunderstood his expert opinion when he wrote an article on them.
“I am a political scientist, l present political analysis of any topic at national, regional and national level. How the players interpret my analysis is beyond my control and expectations,” said Zimba. “My role is to give expert opinions and that l have always done l believe. It’s unfortunate if some people are misunderstanding expert opinions. They have free choice to either pick something or just ignore everything.”
