Bowman Lusambo says he has gone through worse times than his current predicament where he has had to move back to a “more modest house” he occupied before moving to his now seized ‘splashy’ Chamba Valley house he says is better than “the chicken run in New Kasama”
And Lusambo boasted that he has been friends with former presidents before as they understood who he is, saying “to defeat Lusambo you must join him and befriend him”
Asked by Daily Revelation on how he felt having to move to his ‘more modest house’ after the splashy one in Chamba Valley was seized by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for being suspected to be proceeds of crime, Lusambo said he found himself in this predicament because of what he said petty jealousy.
“We are in African setup and in African setup we have a lot of jealousy people and that is a fact. We have jealousy people and jealousy is everywhere. Jealousy is in politics. Jealousy in day to day life activities which we go through,” Lusambo said. “And for me I don’t have any grudge for anybody because whatever things I do I do it within the law. And if a person wants to use power or he wants to show off that I can do this, it’s up to those people not me.”
He said he was from the streets, as he has gone through worse situations than this.
Lusambo said “to punish Bowman you should not think you can break his heart but “to punish Bowman you must make sure that you join him.”
“There is a saying in English that if you can’t beat them join them. Join him (Bowman). How are you going to join him? Make Bowman your friend,” he said.
Asked if he was suggesting that President Hichilema should befriend him, Lusambo boasted that he has been friends with presidents that have ruled this country before.
He said all these people knew what he was doing and his limits.
“Any person who is closer to the president and the system allows that, you just know that there is no dirty or stupid things he has been doing. That is the things because the system cannot allow you,” Lusambo said.
He said one should just make “Bowman” a friend as each one had different roles to play in the country.
“I am member of parliament. He is the president. The Vice-President, she is Vice-President. And if you can do your audit very well or investigate, I have got more friends in UPND, not today since before the last elections. So I have far more friends in UPND than any other person,” Lusambo said, and boasted that three-quarters of the ministers were his friends because if he did not meet them in MMD then he knew them through association.
Lusambo also said the PF has no challenge on the Copperbelt arguing that the UPND was not a factor.
But put to him that President Hichilema defeated former president president Edgar Lungu, Lusambo argued that that was not the case on the Copperbelt
He said the previous election results should not be put into consideration when it comes to the upcoming by-elections because the UPND now have a record they should be judged against having been in government for almost one year now.
Lusambo said most revolutions start on the Copperbelt.
On his colleague Joe Malanji who like him had his election was nullified by the courts of law on account that he did not have a Grade 12 certificate, Lusambo said Malanji had a certificate and he has seen it with him own eyes.
He said the ECZ accepted Malanji’s filing in to stand as member of parliament in 2021 elections.
But asked if he had authenticated the same certificate, Lusambo said Malanji was a respected person who did things properly.
