A 46-year-old man is appearing in the Kapiri Mposhi Magistrate’s Court for sexually defiling his 9-year-old biological daughter.
Before Kapiri Mposhi magistrate Jammy Mukumbi was Michael Musanga, a resident of Masaiti district, who stands charged with one count of incest.
It is alleged that on May 22, 2023, Musanga allegedly had carnal knowledge of a nine year old girl, who is his biological daughter contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
When the matter came before court, Musanga denied commiting the offence.
And sister to the accused, Martha Musanga 36, narrated that on the material day, she was coming from the field with her mother when they met the named girl, who was crying.
Martha said when they asked her why she was crying, she said she had been undressed and pushed to the ground by a certain man, without disclosing the identity of the man.
She said the girl only disclosed that it was her biological father who had carnal knowledge of her after being medically examined and subjected to further queries by the medical personnel at a local clinic.
The state witness told court that they formally reported the matter to police, which led to the apprehension and subsequent arrest of Musanga.
Other witnesses that have testified in the matter include Musanga’s wife and his 12-year old son.
The matter comes up on December 7, 2023 for continued trial.
