Mumba Malila is highly competent to serve as Chief Justice, says Wynter Kabimba.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kabimba, who is a lawyer and at the same time Rainbow party leader, said he would recommend Malila for that high appointment any time.
“Mumba Malila has a very very high flying CV. He served as Attorney General, he has written books, and therefore I will not doubt his competence in that position as Chief Justice. It’s a recommendation or an appointment that I would highly recommend myself,” he said.
Kabimba said he did not expect anyone to politicise the appointment of Justice Malila.
“Mumba Malila served as Attorney General in the PF government, and the Attorney General is not only an appointee of the President, but an officer of law that is personal-to-holder to the President. If the President goes he also goes,” said Kabimba. “Now he has been appointed Chief Justice under a different government. Mumba Malila was appointed from Attorney General to become Supreme Court Justice under the previous government. I don’t know why it should be political now and not before. I think Mumba Malila is a competent officer of the law, and I think he needs the support of all of us.”
