Coach Osward Mutapa is praying erratic Power Dynamos can now remain consistent enough to stay in the 2024/2025 FAZ Super League title race after ending their five-match winless drought during Saturday’s 3-1 home win over Indeni.
Powers’ victory at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe was their first since December 1 when they defeated hosts Nkwazi 3-1 away in Lusaka.
Since then, Power went on to pick four defeats and a draw.
Mutapa said in a post-match interview that the win is a big relief after the bad spell but now needs to be very consistent despite being within four points of the top two.
“We had gone about five games without a win so out of 15 points we only got one point. Unacceptable especially of a team of Power’s caliber,” Mutapa said.
Power stays outside the top four even after the win at number five on 32 points from 20 matches played and 14 left to play.
“We have to take each game as it comes yes like it happened similarly when went five games unbeaten in the first half of the season,” Mutapa said.
“So hopefully we can go more than 5 games but we will take each game as it comes.”
Mutapa said with the signing of current top scorer on 10 goals Titus Chansa from Mutondo Stars, his arrival would improve their goal turnover.
Chansa opened his Power account with a 62nd minute penalty to score the teams third goal after Ismael Ankobo and Fredrick Mulambia’s goals in the 34th and 43rd minutes respectively.
