MY NEPHEW SHOULD WORRY UPND – KAMBWILI … But Kabwita has unleashed more attacks on his uncle

By Patson Chilemba

PF presidential aspirant Chishimba Kambwili says those in the UPND should be more worried about his nephew Charles Kabwita for coming out in the manner he did against his own uncle (Kambwili).

But Kabwita has unleashed more attacks in his uncle accusing him of trying to convince complainants in the late Obed Kasongo case to [pp-logged-users] withdraw the matter in order to protect known people.

Kabwita recently urged opposition leaders Kambwili was telling to unite in order to kick out President Hichilema in 2026, not to listen to him as he was a sellout who only considers his own interests.

Kabwita’s remarks as expected were very well received in circles where Kambwili is not liked and by his opponents.

However, Kambwili said that does not worry him.

“What they should be worried of the UPND is if a nephew can say that against the uncle what will he say against them? That is what should worry them. If a nephew can say that against the uncle, what will he say against them? That’s the only comment I can give them,” Kambwili said. “So they can continue saying that but I cannot respond to my nephew. Uyu mwana, ngaba wrong kumwitafye nokumukalipila (This one is just a child. When he is wrong you just call them to discipline them). But the only thing I can tell UPND is if he can say that against his own uncle who are you? And what will he say against you? That’s all I can say.”

But responding to his uncle, Kabwita said the UPND already knows who Kambwili is, and that everybody in Zambia knew who his uncle was.

“And my utterances towards how he treated me should not be misplaced by any connection of relationship. It can’t be that when an uncle has erred a nephew cannot talk for the sake of our relationship. It must not be that way. It can’t be like that,” Kabwita said. “We are serving a country and this country should be worry of who Chishimba Kambwili is, and that is why I had to put it on record especially that many times youths are deceived by these leaders. I have made my point known and the country is aware of who Chishimba Kambwili is. Full Stop. Look at the number of people he was working with. Where are they? Where are the people whom he was working with? Where are they today?”

He said it was unfortunate that Kambwili could invoke their relationship when discussing national matters.

“Mind you, Obed Kasongo, the former (Copperbelt) provincial youth chairman for NDC, died at the hands of me and him in Roan Constituency,” Kabwita said, saying that they both know who hacked the deceased Kasongo. “We reported the matter to police and the docket is still there. And it’s unfortunate that the same leader who was supposed to protect the interests of Obed quickly turned to say he died of Malaria. And this has shocked the country. So for me I am not going to stop talking because this leader is related to me. There are quite a number is issues that demand justice and he knows what I am talking about. There are people appearing in court with Bowman Lusambo today and this same leader is on record to have enticed the complainants with money from … so that they can withdraw the matter.

“This is what I am talking about. We don’t need to have such leaders like him to continue misleading the people. A life was lost, people were beaten. Mr Musukwa was even taken to ICU. For many weeks he stayed in hospital and yet he’s in the forefront pursuing to have the matter withdrawn from court.”

Kabwita said the complainants went to his house complain about his uncle’s interference in the court matter.

“So it can’t be that when we have issues to do with this country we should talk about relationship. No! I have made by point clear and what I want is for him to stop misleading the youths especially,” said Kabwita.[/pp-logged-users]
