Nkana coach Mwenya Chipepo says they have really disappointed their fans with back to back defeats in the league.
On Saturday, Nkana lost 1-0 at home in Kitwe to struggling Napsa Stars to sustain their second successive league defeat.
Nkana’s defeat came a week after fellow FAZ Super League title contenders Zesco United beat them 2-0 away in Ndola.
Chipepo said in a post-match interview that it wasn’t easy to describe the experience.
It was the first time since Chipepo’s appointment on October 27,2024 that Nkana had suffered back to back losses after winning 8, drawing 2 and losing just 1 game in his first 11 fixtures in charge.
“Disappointing result. Two losses in a row. We are not very happy and it is a sad moment losing at home in front of the big home crowd who came to support us, ” Chipepo said.
“We have disappointed them and we have to work hard in our coming game. We need to start picking points. “
The match was decided in the 84th minute via a Simon Nkhata goal that also ended Napsa’s 10-match winless run.
Despite Nkana’s defeat, they stay at number four on the log on 33 points, tied with arch-rivals Power Dynamos who are number 4 and three points behind overnight leaders Kabwe Warriors.
Red Arrows are third on 35 points while by press time Zesco United were second on 36 points before their away game against Green Eagles.
