Kantanshi member of parliament (PF) Anthony Mumba has commended the UPND administration for finally signing on to works for the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way, saying that shows that the country is moving in the right direction in terms of infrastructural development.

Seconding the motion on the presidential speech to parliament last week, Mumba thanked the governnemt on behalf of the people of Kantanshi for signing on to the country’s busiest road.
“I think that in itself is a clear demonstration that as a country we are moving in the right direction in as far as infrastructure, which has in the last 18 months not been very clear,” he said.

But Mumba highlighted the fact that President Hakainde Hichilema raised the issue of education as something that is free and that the user fees have been abolished. However, Mumba said there are still fees the children are still incurring as those in repeat exam Grades like Grade 9 when they fail and want to rewrite to right their results they are required to pay K650, saying that does not amount to free education.

He said for those in external examination classes, they have to pay K25 per subject.
