MMD leader Pastor Nevers Mumba has urged the people of Kabwata not to unshackle the PF from what he calls “life imprisonment” inflicted upon them during the heavy defeat in the 2021 general elections.
Drumming up support for the PF candidate Andrew Tayengwa, during campaigns with the UPND leadership in Kabwata, Dr Mumba said there was no economic or political gain or reason for people to vote for PF.
“PF cannot be voted for by anybody who loves this country at this time. The punishment that Zambians have to PF is still intact. Don’t remove that punishment. If you remove it aster five months the sentence is not five months for PF. The sentence is eternal,” pastor Mumba said. “The sentence for PF is life imprisonment. They can sing all they want. They can insult all they want. They can be arrogant as they want but it’s over. As long as this new generation of Zambians exist, the type of politics our colleagues did shall never be, will never be accepted ever again by the Zambian people.”
Pastor Mumba said Zambian was headed for total destruction, but God salvaged “us from the mouths of sharks so that Zambia can get back on the way.”
He said despite campaigning in the same area with those in the PF there were no insults nor blood spilled, which was a far cry from what used to happen only a few months ago, when opposition campaigns were being dispersed by police with teargas canisters.
“It is for this reason Mr secretary general that it will be hypocritical for Nevers Mumba and the MMD that have fought for politics that make sense, politics of of respect, politics of honour, politics of morality and integrity, we now have that,” pastor Mumba said, adding that this was why the MMD, despite being in the opposition ,were campaigning with the ruling UPND.
Pastor Mumba said he was not alien to the terrain of working with the UPND as they traversed the country together during the 2016 general elections.
“We won that election but the way things where, abene abaishiba ukwiba, bali iba ilya election (Those who know how to steal stole those elections). But when God’s time comes no matter how much you steal it doesn’t work. This is what happened in 2021. So there is no need to go to the booth and vote for PF, it’s a wasted vote…because Zambians have had the experience with them,” said pastor Mumba.
