Police in Kabwe have arrested a UPND civic leader and a Kabwe Municipal Council member of staff for forgery and altering false documents.
Sources have disclosed that the duo who have been arrested are Golden Mumba who is Kawama ward councilor and Nancy Chenga, who is acting Kabwe Municipal Council public relations manager.
The source disclosed that the duo has been colluding in forging receipts belonging [pp-logged-users] to Kabwe Municipal Council.
The sources further disclosed that Chenga has been suspended pending further disciplinary action.
“And Ms Chenga has been suspended by management pending further disciplinary action,” said the source who spoke on condition of anonymity. “It relates to forgery and uttering of false documents in relation to plots in Kabwe and fake receipt in the amount of K18, 000 was recovered during police investigations. The duo was arrested but released on police bond and will appear in court soon.”
When contacted to comment on the allegations, Chenga refused to do so.
“I cannot comment on that issue. I have no comment,” said Chenga.
Central Province Police Commissioner Roy Kashimba said he was in a meeting and would get back to this reporter.
